Before your peel

Arrive with clean skin and avoid aggressive exfoliation before your appointment unless you have been directed otherwise. Tell your esthetician about active products, prescriptions, recent sun exposure, cold sores, pregnancy, sensitivity, or any recent skin treatments.

The first 24 hours

Keep skin calm. Avoid heavy workouts, saunas, hot tubs, direct sun, picking, scrubbing, exfoliating acids, retinoids, and harsh active ingredients. Your skin barrier is doing important work, so less is more.

Moisture and SPF matter

Hydration and sun protection are essential after a peel. Use gentle products and wear SPF daily. Freshly treated skin can be more sensitive to sunlight, so protecting it helps preserve the result and reduce irritation.

Do not pick flaking skin

If your skin flakes, let it shed naturally. Pulling or scrubbing can create irritation and may increase the chance of uneven healing. A peel is not more successful just because you peel dramatically. Some effective peels create very little visible flaking.

When to book your next treatment

For concerns like acne marks, pigmentation, and texture, a series can be helpful. Your timing should be based on skin response and professional guidance, not a one-size-fits-all calendar.

Common questions

Can I wear makeup after a chemical peel?

It is usually best to avoid makeup immediately after a peel and let the skin stay calm. Follow the guidance given at your appointment.

Can I work out after a peel?

Avoid heavy sweating for at least the early post-treatment window because heat and sweat can increase irritation.

Will my skin always peel?

No. Some peels create visible flaking and others do not. Results are not measured only by how much skin peels.
