Chemical peels are an effective way to exfoliate the skin, removing congestion such as blackheads, and generally brighten up the skin. A chemical solution such as an alpha-hydroxy acid is applied to the skin that causes it to exfoliate/peel off. Chemical peels are used to help treat concerns such as wrinkles, discolored skin, and scars. They can be done alone or combined with other cosmetic procedures and can be done at different depths.
