Microneedling (aka collagen induction therapy) is a procedure used to stimulate the body’s natural wound healing process by creating controlled micro-injuries with small needles. This treatment sees a reduction in acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and tightens and brightens.  A series of treatments is recommended to see greatest results, especially in clients with acne scarring.

Pre-Treatment:

  • Please discontinue use of products containing any exfoliating agents (retinoic acid, tretinoin, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic/salicylic acids, astringents, etc.) 24 hours prior to procedure
  • Avoid excessive sun exposure/burns 24 hours prior to procedure
  • Avoid alcohol 24 hours prior to procedure
  • Allow at least 24 hours after autoimmune therapies before SkinPen treatment
  • Wait 6 months following oral isotretinoin use

 

Immediately Following Treatment:

  • It can take 24 hours for micro channels to close post treatment. During this time avoid all products other than those supplied or recommended
  • Avoid clothing, headbands, hats or scarves on the treated area.  If clothing is to be worn over treatment area, we recommend cotton clothing that hasn’t been treated with fabric softeners or dryer sheets.
  • Do not pick, peel, rub, scrub or irritate your skin in any way while it is healing, as this may cause scarring.
  • Avoid heat, saunas, hot tubs and sweaty activity; this includes exercise of any kind.
  • Do not use a Clarisonic or facial brush of any kind.
  • Redness and/or swelling is common and will resolve over time. (Sterile ice packs may be used for soothing)

 

Day of treatment:

  • Continue to use the Skinfuse Non-Cytotoxic Lift serum supplied in your Treatment Kit as needed.
  • You may cleanse your skin in the evening with iS Clinical Cleansing Complex.
  • Do not apply anything else to the skin.

 

Days 1-2 Post Treatment:

  • AM and PM Routine- Cleanse skin with iS Clinical Cleansing Complex followed by Skinfuse Rescue Calming Complex, supplied in your take home Treatment Kit
  • You may use the Rescue Calming Complex throughout the day if extra moisture is needed

 

Day 3 Post Treatment:

  • Cleanse skin with iS Clinical Cleansing Complex, apply Skinfuse Rescue Calming Complex (if still remaining)
  • An additional moisturizer is recommended (we recommend iS Clinical Moisture Emulsion Moisturizing Complex, Super Serum)
  • A reminder: Do not pick, peel, rub, scrub or irritate your skin in any way while it is healing, as this may cause scarring.
  • Mineral make-up may be worn, however, we recommend leaving skin clean for this time period if possible.

 

Days 4+:

  • You may resume your regular skin care routine as long as peeling/flaking has subsided. Understand that you may or may not peel and each treatment may be different.
